About BASIS Independent McLean:
We are an age 2–grade 8 private school in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia.
Home to the globally benchmarked BASIS Curriculum, a STEM-focusedliberal arts program designed to inspire mastery and excellence in our students as they learn at the highest international levels.
Our teachers are passionate educators with proven subject expertise who make learning an engaged and joyful endeavor.
We offer over 50 clubs and sports to help students discover new passions, participate in diverse activities, and build skills outside of the classroom environment.
The High School Program (Grades 9–12):
An advanced curriculum: The high school curriculum features diverse and challenging coursework based on the best education systems in the world.
Advanced Placement®focus: Students can take AP courses offered as early as grade 9, as well as a variety of elective options.
A senior year like no other: Seniors participate in a daily college counseling class, specialized capstone courses, and a three-month Senior Project where they conduct internships, research, and more.
Entry to top colleges and universities: BASIS Independent seniors are accepted to programs such as Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, and Oxford, just to name a few.
